Flooding around the house is one of those problems that gets worse every time it rains. Water sits where it shouldn't, softens the soil, and eventually starts working its way toward your foundation. It's not just an eyesore - it's a problem that compounds over time if you leave it alone.
On this job, the ground was uneven and had no real slope to move water away from the home. We came in and reshaped the entire grade so water has a clear path to go somewhere useful instead of pooling up against the house. We also tied the downspouts into an underground drainage system, so roof runoff isn't just dumping at the base of the walls anymore.
The front entry area got cleaned up too. What was a rough, overgrown mess is now a smooth, usable space that actually makes sense. And because we built up the grade along the side, the homeowner ended up with a raised bed area along the berm - perfect for flowers or low shrubs.
That's the thing about final grading done right. It's not just about moving dirt. It's about understanding where water wants to go and building the land to work with that instead of against it. When the drainage, the grade, and the landscaping all work together, the result is a yard that actually functions.
If you've got standing water around your home, soggy spots that never dry out, or downspouts that just dump at the foundation - that's a grading and drainage problem. It's fixable. We do this kind of work regularly and know how to get the water moving where it belongs.
